Volatility Radio - Lonesome Loser

We are live from the airwaves of Volatility Radio via satellite from the Silicon Valley–where rich, white-collar businessmen are given access to the president of the United States, Barack Obama, so they can vent the disillusionment of their generation.

I am disillusioned with their disillusionment. After all, wasn’t everyone in the “Town Hall Meeting” employed? It’s likely the majority of them also own their own home, replete with loads of equity.

The Town Hall Meeting today was testimony to the horrid shilling that takes place on television channels all over the world, each and every day.

Someday soon, someone out there is going to start a real show about the economy and the markets. The current programming available to the investing public can be summed up in one word: PATHETIC.

Have you heard about the Lonesome Loser
Beaten by the Queen of Hearts every time
Have you heard about the Lonesome Loser
He’s a loser but he still keeps on trying

Sit down, take a look at yourself
Don’t you want to be somebody
Someday somebody’s gonna see inside
You have to face up, you can’t run and hide

Have you heard about the Lonesome Loser
Beaten by the Queen of Hearts every time
Have you heard about the Lonesome Loser
He’s a loser but he still keeps on trying

Unlucky at love at least that’s what they say
He lost his head and he gambled his heart away
He still keeps searching though there’s nothing left
Staked his heart and lost, now he has to pay the cost

Have you heard about the Lonesome Loser
Beaten by the Queen of Hearts every time
Have you heard about the Lonesome Loser
He’s a loser but he still keeps on trying

“It’s okay” he smiles and says
But this loneliness is driving him crazy
He don’t show what goes on in his head
But if you watch very close you’ll see it all

Sit down, take a look at yourself
Don’t you want to be somebody
Someday somebody’s gonna see inside
You have to face up, you can’t run and hide

Have you heard about the Lonesome Loser
Now tell me have you heard about the Lonesome Loser

Volatility Radio - Bobby’s Back

Well c’mon, man, I hear that Bobby’s back from being upstate
He learned his lesson, so they say, well I guess we’ll wait and see
He’s got a new corvette, he says it does a hundred and twenty, easy
Got some catchin’ up to do, some crazy score to settle

When I first heard Bobby’s back, the first thing that I thought of
Was how his chic like up and left with some guy she just met
I don’t think that he knew it yet, man it sent a chill right through me
The only thing he ever loved just left with his last paycheck

Bobby’s back, maybe for good this time
All his life, he was the last in line
Bobby’s back, maybe for good this time
All my life, he was a friend of mine

Bobby’s face looked pale and thin, as if some ghost had haunted him
When he asked me what was new, I wasn’t quite sure what to say
How come everybody’s stickin’ bloody fingers in my face?
I almost cried and said, “They sure don’t make cars like they use to”

Bobby’s back, maybe for good this time
All his life, he was the losing kind
Bobby’s back, maybe for good this time
All his life, he never had peace of mind

I shook him hard and said,”Listen man you can’t go back in time again”
And never ’til the day that I die did I see tears fall from Bobby’s eyes
Four or five years had gone by when I read about how Bobby died
He crashed his car into a wall, messed up on drugs and alcohol
Another brother led astray, well I’ll be damned if I go that way
Say a little prayer for him he lived a life you just can’t win

Bobby’s back, maybe for good this time
All his life, he was the last in line
Bobby’s back, maybe for good this time
Bobby’s gone, he was a friend of mine

Honorable mention: Whoever gave Setzer his mullet. So 80’s. And so cool.

Status Update

Meanwhile, aboard The Errol Flynn–where I am just as connected as I am when I am back at The FactoryFlash and I are entertaining Cary, Pinky, Holly and Amanda. Flash is in an apprenticeship program, and I have just given him a new incentive: his own Bloomberg terminal. You’ll get to know Flash in time. He’s someone everyone needs to know at some point. Like the rest of the cast here at the set of the richest man on the planet, Flash adds an immense amount of value.

“WHAT?” Flash asked, “You think gold might pull back?”

“Yeah, I think so,” I admitted, “That’s why I sold the majority of it.”

“You said you wouldn’t sell it till it hit $10,000 per oz. Why the switch?”

“I still think it’s going to $10,000 an ounce,” I smirked, “but I am cautious in the short term. I think we could see a pullback more severe than I want to sit through. Besides that, there are so many things that I want to buy now. And I can always get right back into gold whenever I choose.

Gold is crowded here–is there a gold bear anywhere? I haven’t met one in weeks.” I continued. “What’s more, I haven’t seen or heard from a bull in stocks in what seems like months. There are too many bulls in gold and too many bears in stocks.”

“So what are you buying?”

“Calls in everything–especially financials like Goldie (GS). I haven’t been this bullish in a while. You know I love the bull side–particularly when there are too many bears.”

Then Pinky called and said to meet her in the lounge, where we sang with Cary Okie.

Flash didn’t even show up to the party in the sky; he stayed back in the office lost in his new Bloomberg. Flash is one of the greatest traders I’ve known. And he is just getting started.

And the beat goes on.
